Adding new equipment

In SKYFLD®, application maps are adjusted to your equipment to help you achieve the best results. Add information about your machines to start creating tailor-made seeding, fertilisation, or crop protection maps.

Remember that you can only add a new machine to your currently selected farm. Learn how to switch to a different farm in this article.

How to add a new machine

1. Click on the Tractor icon to go to the Machinery section.

   

2. Click Add new machinery. You will see the following screen:
   

   
   
   

3. Select the type of equipment. Currently, you can choose from 6 different options.
   If you want to see detailed instructions for each of them, click on the links below or scroll down to the Machinery types section:
   
   
   • • Drills
     • Single grain sowers
     • Planters
     • Sprayers
     • Spreaders
     • Terminals
       
       
4. Choose the manufacturer. Once you do it, you will see that more information fields have appeared.
   
   

   Do I have to share the information about the manufacturer and the model? No, you don’t. Although it might make it easier for you to find the machine on your equipment list, sharing that information is optional. If you don’t want to do it, you can choose the “Custom” manufacturer and enter any model name. The only exception is adding a terminal - in this case, we need you to select the exact model so that the exported maps will be compatible with your device. However, to create a precise seeding or fertilization map that will be compatible with your equipment, you need to fill in the machine’s specifications (for example, its working width or the number and spacing of rows).

    

5. Enter the model of your equipment.
   
   
6. Fill in the technical specifications - these fields will not be available if you have selected a terminal. See the detailed instructions below for more information about each type of equipment.
   
   
7. Optionally, you can give your equipment a custom name. It should be at least 3 characters long.
   
   
8. If you want to easily recognize the new machine on the list of your equipment, you can also upload its photo. You can only add pictures in the following formats:
   
   
   1. • jpg
      • jpeg
      • png
      • gif.
        
        
9. Click Save. Your machinery should now appear on the list of your equipment.
   
   

Machinery types

Drills

1. Click Machinery type to open the list and select the equipment type.
   

   
   
   

2. Select the manufacturer from the list. If the manufacturer of your machine is not available or you don’t want to share that information, select Custom. Once you choose, you will see that more options have appeared:
   

   
   
   

3. Choose the model of your machine. If you don’t want to share that information, enter any name that is at least 3 characters long.
   
   
4. Enter the working width of your drill in meters.
   
   
5. Enter the drill’s row spacing value in centimeters.
   
   
6. Optionally, you can give your equipment a custom name. It should be at least 3 characters long.
   
   
7. If you want to easily recognize the new machine on the list of your equipment, you can also upload its photo. You can only add pictures in the following formats:
   
   
   1. • jpg
      • jpeg
      • png
      • gif.
        
        
8. Click Save. Your machinery should now appear on the list of your equipment.
   

Single grain sowers and planters

1. Click Machinery type to open the list and select the equipment type.
   

   
   
   

2. Select the manufacturer from the list. If the manufacturer of your machine is not available or you don’t want to share that information, select Custom. Once you choose, you will see that more options have appeared:
   

   

   
   
3. Choose the model of your machine. If you don’t want to share that information, enter any name that is at least 3 characters long.
   
   
4. Enter the number of the planting rows of your machine.
   
   
5. Enter the row spacing value in centimeters.
   
   
6. Optionally, you can give your equipment a custom name. It should be at least 3 characters long.
   
   
7. If you want to easily recognize the new machine on the list of your equipment, you can also upload its photo. You can only add pictures in the following formats:
   
   
   1. • jpg
      • jpeg
      • png
      • gif.
        
        
8. Click Save. Your machinery should now appear on the list of your equipment.
   
   

Sprayers and spreaders

1. Click Machinery type to open the list and select the equipment type.
   

   
   
   

2. Select the manufacturer from the list. If the manufacturer of your machine is not available or you don’t want to share that information, select Custom. Once you choose, you will see that more options have appeared:
   

   

   
   
3. Choose the model of your machine. If you don’t want to share that information, enter any name that is at least 3 characters long.
   
   
4. Enter the working width of your machine in meters.
   
   
5. Optionally, you can give your equipment a custom name. It should be at least 3 characters long.
   
   
6. If you want to easily recognize the new machine on the list of your equipment, you can also upload its photo. You can only add pictures in the following formats:

7. Click Save. Your machinery should now appear on the list of your equipment.

   You can also add machinery while creating an application map. After you select base maps, zoning and define other details dependent on the map type, you will see a button Choose machinery. Click on it to open the list of already added equipment. After opening the list, click on +Add new machinery. The dialogue window allows you to fill in all the details without interrupting the map creation process.

Terminals

1. Click to open the list and select the device type.
   

   
   
   

2. Choose the manufacturer. You can check the list of supported devices at the end of this article. If your terminal is not on this list, contact us at support@skyfld.com.
   Once you choose, you will see that new fields have appeared:
   

   
   
   

3. Select a model from the list. We will need it to make sure that your exported maps are compatible with your farm equipment.
   
4. Optionally, you can give your equipment a custom name. It should be at least 3 characters long.
   
   
5. If you want to easily recognize the new machine on the list of your equipment, you can also upload its photo. You can only add pictures in the following formats:
   
   
   1. • jpg
      • jpeg
      • png
      • gif.
        
        
6. Click Save. Your machinery should now appear on the list of your equipment.
