Thanks to installing CropX sensors on your fields, you can access real-time data that helps to make better irrigation decisions, prevent plant stress and diseases, save resources, and improve farm management. CropX sensors take measurements directly from the soil and give you specific data that allows you to understand your field conditions. Besides the raw data, you receive descriptive insights. With that outstanding technology, you can adjust your irrigation strategies to water the crops only when and where needed.
Integrating your CropX account with SKYFLD can help you increase yields and significantly reduce water usage. In addition, the positive environmental impact comes with lower costs of fertilization and crop protection.
After connecting your CropX account with SKYFLD, you will have access to additional parameters and features:

Soil moisture status
Thanks to the CropX integration, you can check detailed soil moisture information, temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC). Descriptive insights help you in interpreting the readings. Measurements are taken in two or three depths, depending on the sensor model. In the field details view, you can check the current readings table.
If your sensors take measures on 3 different depths, it will be reflected in the table and graph. |
The soil moisture scale shows whether your crop requires watering. There are 3 statuses:
- Refill
- Optimal
- Full
The moisture status is a value between 0 and 100. Values below 33 mean that the soil is too dry (Refill). Values between 33 and 66 indicate optimal soil moisture. Values above 66 mean the soil is too wet (Full).
White droplets show current moisture status, previous (yesterday), and upcoming (prediction for tomorrow).
Historical moisture represented as a graph provides an easy way to analyse data and compare readings from different days. Click the graph to display the exact values and date of measurement.
Hover over a sensor pin to see soil moisture status along with the crop type, vitality, and vitality change.
Based on soil moisture information provided in SKYFLD, you can:
- Plan irrigation according to measurements
- Monitor moisture level changes
- Analyse the amount of nutrients and salinity levels (EC measurements)
Leaching status
Leaching is the process of washing out soil nutrients such as nitrogen. CropX sensor measures EC, temperature, and moisture so you can track leaching events and accurately plan fertilization. After connecting with your CropX account, you will see the following information in the field details:
- Number of leaching days in last 30 days
- Days since the last leaching
In the calendar, you can go through the leaching history. Use these readings to analyze the factors contributing to leaching events and adjust your practices to prevent future occurrences.
Additional map layers
CropX integration provides an extra layer in map options. Selecting soil moisture overlay makes it easy to spot fields that require irrigation. With a simple legend, you can assess soil moisture status without opening field details.
Soon, more CropX insights will be available in SKYFLD!
